I am a fully qualified (QTS) secondary teacher of Biology with 9 years experience working in mainstream schools and I have been tutoring for the last 5 years. I have tutored GCSE and A level biology following the OCR and AQA specifications. I am passionate about my subject and provide a range of reources from past exam questions, experimental methods, animations and text books to enable students to fully understand the subject and for them to achieve thier best. I work on the basis of the students informing me what they would like to revise, go over or learn and plan acordingly for the following session, i can also help with homework set by the class teacher. I provide extra resources for the students to use after the tutoring session which we can go over the following session if they require it.

HI, my name is Charlotte but everyone calls me Lottie. I have the ability to communicate with children especially those with learning disabilities as I have learned so much from having them myself. During the last few years of teaching i have used variety of methods to explain the topic to my students and I prefer to choose specific method of teaching for all my students because I believe every person has different way of understanding and requires special attention towards that specific way and to achieve that level of understanding I always try to get the right connection with my student by listening their problems their stories and they always feel very much comfortable with me to share what they are troubling with. I also prefer to use different online videos and presentations related to recent advancements in that specific topic. I often perform different activities with my students, specifically with university students, that can help them understand the nature of physiological and biological pathways. My usual method of teaching involves collecting information from different sources and compile them for my students and first explain each and every detail of that specific topic then I help my student to comprise their own notes from their understanding and I believe that to achieve exceptional grades you should always explain your answers in your own words rather than just rephrasing from textbooks or manuscripts. Recently some of my students graduated from the university and got their desired jobs straight away and few of them also got enrolled in postgraduate studies to continue their passion for medical sciences. It is not an hour or two to write only notes but to work with the students to be practical using the ideas in questions, how to apply them and why to learn about them. lesson should be interesting to attract students to love to learn and enjoy studying with me as well to leave the tutoring hour feeling there was a gain of knowledge, practice techniques to answer the questions and no need to go home and revise again and mostly to gain confidence.
