I have three years tutoring experience of GCSE and A Level Mathematics, as well as A Level Further Mathematics.
Aside from this, I have worked at King`s College London Mathematics School for nine years, teaching AS Computer Science as well as supporting students in admissions test preparation for Maths (i.e. the Oxford MAT and STEP papers). This has also involved mathematics outreach for y10 and y11 students,.
Before working in a school (during my PhD), I took on a range of tutorials for undergraduate mathematics students, mainly based on 1st and 2nd year modules, covering introductory calculus, analysis and abstract algebra.

My name is Manahil K., and I am a passionate and dedicated professional with years of experience in teaching computer, mathematics and English. I firmly believe that every student has the potential to succeed and achieve greatness, and my goal as an instructor is to help unlock that potential by fostering a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment. My teaching approach is built on encouragement, personalized attention, and a deep understanding of each student’s unique learning style, ensuring that every lesson I deliver is impactful and meaningful.
With a strong educational background in both subjects, I have honed my skills in breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand components, which helps students grasp difficult material with confidence. I have had the privilege of working with a diverse group of learners over the years, ranging from primary school students to adult learners, and I am always motivated to create tailored learning experiences that cater to each individual's needs.
One of my core values as a teacher is the importance of creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel safe to express themselves and ask questions. I understand that mathematics and English can often be intimidating subjects for many, but I work hard to break down these barriers and create a learning environment where students feel comfortable and encouraged to take risks and make mistakes. I believe that mistakes are simply stepping stones to growth, and I always provide constructive feedback that helps students build on their strengths and improve in areas where they may struggle.
In my mathematics classes, I aim to demystify numbers and problem-solving by using clear explanations, real-world examples, and interactive activities that help students see the practical applications of mathematical concepts. Whether it’s algebra, geometry, calculus, or statistics, I make sure that my lessons are relevant and engaging, offering plenty of opportunities for students to practice their skills and apply their learning in meaningful ways. I also believe in using technology and various resources to make learning more dynamic and fun, helping students develop a deeper appreciation for the subject.
In English, my approach focuses on developing strong literacy skills, from reading comprehension to writing proficiency, all while fostering a love for language and communication. I guide students through the nuances of grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure while encouraging them to read widely, think critically, and write clearly. I believe in making literature come alive for my students, encouraging them to explore different genres, themes, and perspectives in a way that sparks their curiosity and broadens their worldview.
At the heart of my teaching philosophy is the belief that learning should be an enjoyable experience, not a stressful one. I always strive to make each lesson enjoyable, and I aim to leave my students feeling more confident, motivated, and eager to continue their educational journey. I am truly passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals, and I look forward to working with you to provide a positive and enriching learning experience that will empower you to reach your full potential.

I am a fully qualified teacher, with teaching experience for over 13 years. I currently work for a Private School in London as the Head of Department for Computer Science.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) & Level 3 Diploma in Software Development.
I have been a KS2, KS3, GCSE & A-Level teacher of Computer Science for 13 years. I have taught across 4 different schools. I have worked in the state sector and now currently working in the private sector.
My subject specialism is in Computer Science from levels Key Stage 2, 3, GCSE & A-Level. I also teach Key Stage 2 & Key Stage 3 English, Science & Maths.
95% of the pupils I tutor are online. I have successfully been able to raise attainment by up to 2-3 grades at GCSE. I have had pupils I tutored who were Grade 4’s (C/D) and left with Grade 7+ (A-A**). Online teaching for me is no different as to teaching face to face. Pupils also find it to be a challenging & joyful experience too.
Exam Boards I am most familiar with are: OCR (what I teach currently), AQA, Edexcel, iGCSE, Cambridge Nationals, Cambridge Technicals (L2 & 3) etc.
