My present duties, in the South-West London College (Key Stages 4, 5; 16-19 www.*** ), are:
- I deliver lectures; run conversations, perform on-going verification of students' newly acquired knowledge and topic understanding
- Prepare materials for the lectures: on-line videos, presentation, reading material, exercises, problems
- I do students' register (keep attendance)
- I motivate students by showing them their life goal options
- I motivate students by showing how interesting the innovation and entrepreneurial business can be, especially in the digital era world
- I do EEA sessions - I cover other teachers if needed
- I participate in Teacher's meetings
- I use MS Teams for communication with students and teachers
- I prepare clarification of exam requirements and explain Assignment Briefs
- I verify student's assignments and I mark them, I do it in group and individual sessions
- I do individual consulting on students' work gaps to bridge (coaching)
- I am an invigilator for (mock) exams
- I actively do participate in student's assessment www.*** I make notices on students’ behaviour and class attendance on ProMonitor IT system; I report these to Business management teams/ Head
- Constant contact with Business team Managers on all these above
- I am an IV (Internal Verifier) if needed.
I am a current Student at QMUL studying economics, with a particular interest in macroeconomics and international development. After completing A Levels I believed the best choice was to attend university in London. I am an extremely hardworking individual who seeks to achieve the best in every task. My strengths include strong time-management, leadership and management, and strong communication skills. These characteristics are what I feel will make me an extremely proficient tutor. In addition, having been through state education for the past 13 years and achieving the top grades in all categories I understand how the educational system works and techniques which provide the best outcomes for GCSE and A level students. I am also a part-time chef which has meant I have had engagement with parents and guardians which has boosted my ability to understand what is required not only from the student but how the guardian would like me progress with the tutoring progress.

Have been teaching for seventeen years in both the state and independent sectors, currently Head of department at a small independent school in Hertfordshire. Have extensive experience of teaching all three subjects to to A Level. Excellent results with high value added year on year. Have also private tutored in both Economics and Business at A level in the past.
I completed my PGDE with Teach First, being part of a team deep-dived during two Ofsted inspections, achieving outstanding both times. I have experience at KS3, including curriculum design, teaching KS4 for Elizabeth, Nazi Germany, Medicine, and the Cold War, and examining for Edexcel on the Nazi Germany paper. I have a warm demeanor and want to support the student find their way to their most advanced level and critically engage with what they are learning. I provide and signpost students towards the resources and knowledge required to achieve their goals. This involves writing detailed lesson plans and providing reading lists, depending on the topics being studied, as well as asking students to do some work between sessions.
I am a very dynamic and flexible tutor, who can adapt to the learning style of the student. Whether that is more conversation driven or written responses and guided marking, I have been trained in a number of pedagogical skills to ensure students retain knowledge and deepen their explanatory power when using this knowledge.
This includes engaging in differentiated teaching and supporting students to overcome specific barriers to their learning, whether that is around self-esteem towards the subject and learning behaviours, or specific learning difficulties and particular barriers because of this. Over the past four years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to teach English in China (Jiaxing), both online and in the classroom. Starting in a traditional classroom, I built strong connections with my students and refined my teaching techniques. Moving to online teaching expanded my reach and allowed me to embrace new educational technologies, making learning more accessible and engaging.
