Hi, I’m Tobias – a teacher and homeschooling specialist based in London with nearly 15 years of experience. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping students from all backgrounds and abilities achieve their goals. With a 100% pass rate in Maths and Science, I’m confident in my ability to guide your child to success. I've been a teacher and tutor for over 30 years and feel I'm just about getting the hang of it. In addition to teaching content, I focus particularly on getting my students to think more deeply about how and why they study, helping them learn better how to learn, That really is the fun of teaching. Essentially, I try to provide the kind of education and support I would want for my own children. Not that I actually do provide that for my own children, of course; I’ll be looking for some other sucker to tutor those little monkeys. I work in the North Kent area (principally in and around Gravesend and Medway) and specialise in maths and physics, but also run sessions on essay writing (which concentrate on improving grammar, punctuation and structure). Most of my students are studying A-level or IB, but I also run GCSE and 11+ sessions. Although offering individual tuition from time to time, I mainly run small groups, classes and crammers, which provide a better education at far lower cost.
In addition to offering personal tuition, I also produce free video tutorials for those unable to afford help (or for whom a trip to the bucolic paradise of North Kent is sufficiently unfeasible or unpalatable). The library is currently small but will doubtless grow with my children (who are the reason I currently have so little time to make more – either videos and children). In terms of qualifications, I hung around Cambridge till they gave me a couple of degrees to go away, then repeated the trick at Oxford a few years later. I've therefore acquired a bachelors in physics, masters in history/philosophy and theology, and a doctorate in theology. Which displays either commendably diverse interests or an inability to stick at anything. My wife suggests the latter.
I originally trained and worked as a secondary school English teacher, but I found the pressure in schools led to teachers being overwhelmed with paperwork and the teaching element almost became a lesser priority. Now I prefer to focus on private tuition where my primary aim is teaching and enabling students to achieve. At Perfect Plus Tutoring, we strive to create an academic atmosphere which is enjoyable as well as beneficial. I offer private tuition to students in North Kent, Medway and Maidstone areas.

SMALL GROUP TUITION
This is an excellent, cost effective, way for your child to receive tuition. As there are a maximum of 6 in a group students still get individual help, without the intensity of one to one. We offer this service in English and Maths for either the 11 Plus or GCSE. Each session is 1 hour.
ONLINE TUITION We tailor our online tutoring to fit the unique needs and circumstances of our students. A session lasts for 1 hour. This service is offered for English or Maths, for the 11 Plus, GCSE or A-Level.
ONE TO ONE TUITION We also offer a small number of one to one tuition at our centre in The Plant Base. We realise that some times a student will prefer to have the additional space to work with a tutor one to one.

We are a long established tuition centre in both Hadleigh and Benfleet. Previously Kumon we changed to First Class learning in 2013.
We teach from pre-school through to year 5 in maths and English and from year 6 through to year 11 in science.
We prepare students for the 11+ exams both CEM and CSSE and local school exams.
Students do work in class and also at home, which they return each week. Classes are kept small and so invariably we have waiting lists.
Our 11+ class starts from year 4 so as to give the students a good foundation rather than intensive tuition.
