I’m a qualified early years teacher. I’ve got 2 and a half years experience working in schools and nurseries with KS1, early years and SEN students. I have a passion for assisting children to reach their full potential.
I work for agencies here working in schools, primary, key stage 1 and 2. I support children who are needing extra support in their learning. I love teaching children as they are so keen to learn and just are so excited to be learning.
About my lessons:
To begin I like to dive into my students strengths and weakness in the subject area to gain a better idea of how to cater my lessons in a way that would best benefit my students time .I then personalise lessons around my students to hit specific target areas, looking at how to meet exam board objectives, going over how to structure answers to meet top band and then doing practice exam questions. I also implement active recall each week to continually reinforce my student memory and go back over past material .Practice exam questions and active recall have been proved to be one of the most effective ways to retain information and are key in achieving higher grades. And to end each session off I give a student a small, manageable task to complete before our next session to further consolidate their understanding.

I tutor because I want to teach students what they can achieve with the power of English and to share my love for the subject with them, as well as helping someone to achieve to their higher potential.

Given my relatively young age, I find it effortless to connect with my students, and my contagious enthusiasm for mathematics and teaching often inspires them. They understand that I'm there to guide, support, and assist them in their learning journey. My teaching methodology avoids spoon-feeding students. Instead, I first provide them with a solid understanding of the theory behind a new method or concept. Then, I challenge them to teach the topic back to me as we work through a related problem together. This approach ensures that the student comprehends the topic thoroughly and can confidently navigate the associated steps. Praise and encouragement are essential elements of my teaching style. I firmly believe in acknowledging and motivating students throughout the lesson, fostering a positive and empowering learning environment. Furthermore, I maintain regular communication with the students' parents to provide them with updates on their child's progress. This collaborative approach helps me better understand and support the student's needs. In summary, my tutoring philosophy revolves around personalised instruction, building rapport, fostering understanding through active teaching, and creating a positive learning atmosphere through praise and encouragement. Hi there, I am an experienced tutor offering Maths and Science lessons. I am a graduate from the University of Nottingham, where I studied Cancer Sciences.
