TEACHING: My goal is to help students understand the content, stay engaged and ensure they enjoy their lessons whilst pushing them to their best. I found through my own revision that learning what type of learner you are is one of the most helpful attributes to revision, which is something I would assist with. Additionally, I want to keep students motivated through their long years of studying as it is a long process and to get the higher grades consistency is key.
LESSON STRUCTURE: A typical length of lesson would typically be an 1hr long. The first half of lesson would be going through a topic which the student is struggling to comprehend or to learn new content keeping the student ahead in school. Then using a range of exam questions to further their understanding of the subject area, progressing from their as needed as every student is different lessons would be tailored towards them.

I completed my secondary science PGCE in 2015. I am a Biology specialist, however, I have good subject knowledge and experience of teaching in all three sciences. I am also highly adaptable. I have taught across key stage 3 and key stage 4, including year 11 groups who I taught physics, chemistry and biology. I have been included in general CPD in schools and also in departmental moderation of marking across GCSE. I have taught at several Sheffield schools including High Storrs, Sheffield Park Academy, Sheffield Springs Academy, Birley Community College, Firth Park Academy and Forge Valley School. I have been tutoring for several years and I teach science, geography and maths GCSE both higher and foundation level. I've taught the content for AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards. I also tutor 6th form students in both year 12 and 13 at Biology A Level. I have tutored students through university foundation courses for healthcare and education degree courses. I can also tutor maths and science for university GCSE equivalency exams. Science and maths education is something I have always been passionate about and I try to encourage students to share this passion. It is vital to ensure that all students receive the best education possible and it is my belief that they should receive it in a caring and supportive environment. I refuse to believe that any student cannot succeed in a subject, especially something as versatile and flexible as science and maths, there is always a way to get through to any student. While this is more of a personal belief, I have yet to see anything to the contrary. I have been involved with extra-curricular activities; film club, lunch and break duties, corridor patrols and form activities. I have also received weekly training sessions by specialists in school on teaching both SEN and EAL students and improving my own pedagogy.

Hello, thank you for taking a careful look at my experience. I've taught for many years, many subjects, and in many countries. I've specifically taught preparation courses for the ACT and SAT, the American university entrance exams. I've also taught Chinese students to prepare for their highly competitive mathematics competitions. I've designed special course work, techniques, IEPs, and materials to meet a student's particular and profound learning disability (his mother said that of all the teachers, I made the most progress). My first tutoree came to me with an "F" in university calculus and I got her up to a "B-". I've taught all English levels and mathematical talents to students from all over Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. I know how to ask questions to reveal misconceptions and how to find evidence of understanding. I understand maths anxiety, how teach the approach to a problem and not just how to get an answer. I've written songs to help students remember the quadratic formula and trigonometric functions of which students have testified that they sang in their head while taking the SAT. I've invented games to develop maths concepts that students couldn't stop playing. I've developed coursework on mathematical psychology and game theory as part of a holistic curriculum which fascinated students. I've had years and years of PDs (Professional Development) from many schools in many countries. I'm familiar with the variety pedagogical philosophies and have more specifically given presentations on Deep Learning, Brain Based Learning, and holistic curricula. I have briefly taught in a Montessori school and am familiar with some of those alternative approaches as well. As a mathematician I've independently contributed to many proofs, techniques, an discoveries relating to Pythagorean relationships, Phi, Pi definitions, the complex number plane, analytic geometry, trigonometric identities, and geometric construction, and others. I am currently familiarizing myself with Ofsted standards. Before I've been accountable to US Common Core Standards, and the AERO standards.

I am studying medicine at the University of Nottingham and have completed an undergraduate degree in Medical Physiology from the University of Leicester. I have experience mentoring students between the ages of 10 - 16 in various subjects including Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Physical Education.
Having had a Mathematics tutor myself during my A-levels, I understand that not everything can be learnt whilst in the classroom. Whether it's the cell cycle in Biology or trigonometry in Mathematics, my aim is to guide students through any problematic problems/concepts that they have, to ensure that their understanding is complete.
I am based in Lincoln, however, I would be more than happy to travel to an area convenient.
Please message me with any questions.
Thanks,
Kieran

Hi, i’m Ethan, a friendly, approachable, fully qualified teacher with a vast amount of experience with tutoring children with additional needs. 📚 I have worked in a number of schools (both SEN and mainstream) across Sheffield as a www.*** teacher. This has enabled me to develop my teaching skill set and adapt my skills to a wide range of pupil needs. I have experience with a number of different additional needs, including ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia. I pride myself on adapting lessons to those with additional needs, who may struggle with learning in a classroom. I use a variety of different techniques and work by splitting up topics and teaching them in a way that is understandable and engaging. I work with a lot of past papers as I find the best way to study for an exam is to practice as much as possible looking at the actual exam. This not only gets students used to answering questions in a way that the exam board wants but helps to solidify key knowledge too. ⚽️ I specialise in Physical Education and sport related subjects as it has always been a passion of mine. I have coached many successful football team over the past 8 years and thoroughly enjoy it.
