Over the last 10+ years, I've diligently tutored students, guiding them from 11+ entrance exams to A-level proficiency, encompassing a spectrum of Exam Boards. So far, every pupil secured admission into prestigious grammar and private schools at the 11+ stage, while consistently surpassing their predicted grades for both GCSE and A-level examinations.
My approach is highly adaptable, tailored to accommodate the unique learning styles of each student. I believe in fostering understanding through clear, concise explanations, followed by structured problem-solving sessions to reinforce their understanding. I then encourage independent practice, either during our sessions or as homework assignments.
Below are my Maths qualifications to date:
Maths A-Levels - A*
Further Maths A-Levels A
Maths GCSE - A*
Statistics GCSE- A
Actuarial qualification from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
- CT1: Financial Mathematics
- CT2: Finance and Financial Reporting
- CT3: Probability and Mathematical Statistics
- CT4: Models
- CT5: Contingencies
- CT6: Statistical Methods
- CT7: Business Economics
ACA Qualified Charted Accountant (ICAEW)

Test of Advanced skills:

My priority is tailoring each of my lessons according to individual students, which is a key aspect of one-to-one tutoring. I also use questions and homework to check understanding continually. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student`s understanding and technique.
I always take a student-centered approach to teaching by asking students to bring their notes and talk me through the topics they feel are most difficult. My aim as your tutor would be to identify your strengths and weaknesses and build upon these appropriately. I would incorporate past paper questions very early in the curriculum to assess how well a child can apply their knowledge to answering exam questions. This will ensure that by the time the exams are sat the student will be fully prepared.
I prepare materials which allow them to reinforce their understanding to learn a difficult subject. I gradually strengthen their knowledge and bring them to a higher level.
Materials included:
- Homework
- Mock exam questions
- Quiz sessions
- Past papers
I am teaching the following:
KS2 & KS3 Maths
GCSE Maths - All Exam Boards (Foundation & Higher Tier 9-1 Syllabus)
A Level maths - Exam Boards (Edexcel, OCR, OCR MEI, AQA)

I am Cambridge graduate.
I have been tutoring maths, physics & chemistry GCSE/ A-Level and adult learners, for over 8 years, and have helped many students improve their exam results.
I have written over 20 books too (available on kindle or in paperback), mostly maths books.
I usually visit students in their homes, but also do lessons via Whatsapp (which works great as we can have phone and laptop open at the same time and send documents). During the Corona-virus shutdown, all lessons will be done via Whatsapp with payment via bank transfer please.

I have been a Maths teacher for 10 years but I am going part time from September after having my first baby. I have been a head of department and have built schemes of work and assessment systems for the new 9-1 curriculum for 3 different schools. I remain responsible for the continued development of these in my current school and will, therefore, remain fully up to date with the changes to the curriculum and the exam analysis that takes place after every exam series.
Costs:
One-to-one tutoring 1hr - £50 (first session £30) 10 hrs - £450 (first block of 10 £400)
Block bookings would include:
- all resources for the sessions (such as notebooks and question papers) - resources for independent study (such as past exam papers) - equipment needed for revision and the exam (this includes the new classwiz calculator) - contact between sessions to ask questions to aid independent study
