I have worked in education for over 20 years, teaching in secondary, specialist and primary schools. I've been a SENCO on a mainstream secondary school. I offer face to face 1 to 1 tuition at finest feet in Shifnal and at Stafford Park 4 in Telford. I also offer educational assessments and screeners (NOT diagnostic).
I am friendly, approachable and enjoy making learning meaningful for pupils. My lessons begin with starting activities to recap the previous learning, identify any misconceptions. Moving onto the main part of the lesson I plan activities promoting fluency in the skill then application to a real-life situation or worded exam-style question. Games and quizzes can be fun and useful in testing rapid recall.
I have been teaching for fifteen years and have taught learners of all abilities, backgrounds and socio-economic circumstances, planning for progression and offering timely feedback. I endeavour to make learning as enjoyable as possible and do my utmost to "make learning stick". I am compassionate and go the extra mile for learners.

I gained QTS in 2012 and spent over 10 years delivering outstanding lessons at one of the top rated Grammar schools in England. I was personally highlighted during my time there as achieving the best A- level results in the school, which was measured on pupil’s individual progression. I have 3 years of experience as a private 1:1 tutor where I teach online via Zoom. Students I work with make great progress (often jumping 2-3 grade boundaries within the first term) under my tutoring programme due to my experienced background and previous examining duties.
My approach is to be supportive, encouraging yet constructive in my feedback in order for my students to progress. My online sessions are personalised to meet the needs of the individual learner and are always tailored to the specific examination board being studied. I use various methods including delivering content that the tutee might not have grasped yet and I ensure to focus time each session on exam techniques in relation to short and essay based questions. I have a wide range of support material available and will often use this within the sessions such as model answers and examiner commentaries. My techniques are tried, tested and very effective.
I have been a science teacher for the past 6/7 years in Staffordshire. Last year my classes achieved an average of two grades above their GCSE target grades. The school I am currently teaching at in Staffordshire is ranked 4th in the county in terms of progress 8.
I am a well qualified graduate achieving an upper second class degree in biology at the university of Liverpool. I have been tutoring both biology and chemistry for the past two years on tutorhunt. During this time, I have helped multiple students achieve excellent grades in science.

Lucie first started her career as a Jazz dancer after training in 1998, at the Prestigious Italia Conti Performing Arts College in London. Whilst at her classic studies Lucie Trained at others studios across London for Street Dance Styles. After her extensive training in classic styles Lucie went on to train worldwide with the masters of Street Dance gaining knowledge and skills in the many styles of the Street Dance technique. Becoming a very versatile dancer and teacher and Choreographer.
At Present Lucie is the Resident Street Dance Styles Teacher at the Birmingham Hippodrome and danceXchange, Jill Clews, And also has residencies in other colleges across the midlands. as well as running her own school and Youth company.

Upon leaving school after my A Levels, I went to university to study Tourism Business Management, graduating in 2003. After leaving university I spent nearly 17 years working in logistics and supply chain management, working with a number of large national, multinational and global companies across a lot of different business sectors. Just under two years ago I decided to move into the education sector and use my knowledge and experience to help develop our next generation. I predominantly work delivering business, enterprise, and career challenges and workshops in schools across the United Kingdom, where I have worked with, in excess of 26,000 young people of all ages and a variety of different backgrounds. During my final years in my old career and the first year of my new career I also studied part time to gain an MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree through The Open University, graduating in 2022.
Outside of my main employment I provide life coaching and career mentoring, and I have also done a variety of charity and voluntary work which has given me an understanding of the non-profit making industries in business. In addition, I have experience and qualifications for working with individuals with special educational needs and disabilities, and I have dyslexia myself which motivates me to help those with similar needs. The key thing I can offer as a tutor is a strong knowledge of business theories and practices and the experience of how they relate into the real world of business across a variety of different industries.
I have wealth of experience of teaching Year 6. I have a very good success rate of pupils achieving ‘Expected’ and ‘Greater Depth’ in their SATs assessments. I have lead many successful booster groups which allowed children to achieve their full potential.
