At B., we want to make each person feel like they are the cornerstone of our school. Both children and adults receive top class music education and a fun time for learning vocals and stringed instruments whether its guitar tuition, banjo lessons, ukulele tutoring and mandolin classes. You may also qualify to receive grades instruction and certification from our school and we work with teachers from local schools to assure your training meets your exact needs. For Children We offer one-to-one lessons in several string instruments. Not sure which one is right for you or your child? Just ring us or email and we'll be happy to discuss your options. We personalise each enrolment by matching students with the teachers and instruments best suited to their interests and learning styles. We welcome students of all levels and abilities, from the young beginner just starting to try out an instrument to the teens preparing for grades or a third level entry audition. For Adults Far from the schools of our childhood, mature level student often take a more relaxed approach when starting or returning to an instrument. Whether it be for the challenge of learning something new or to re-visit an instrument started in youth, music is a brilliant addition to any persons life.

Whether it be in school or privately, with S. Music School, students explore music of different genres, styles and traditions, playing to their strengths and preferences, as they build on their abilities as musical performers. They regularly improvise and compose during lessons, ensuring that music making is enjoyable and relevant.
Learners of all ages and abilities gain confidence, communication skills and well-being through the timeless activity of making music.
Working with our Partner Schools we also deliver INSET and Curriculum Music as well as advising on DfE guidance and helping schools bring music into Primary and Secondary Educational settings.
At SMS we believe in developing our music workforce, enabling them to use up-to-date teaching methods and fully understand the needs of each learner. To this end our professional teachers receive ongoing training, monitoring and support from our senior team and others outside the organisation. Only the best teachers in the field locally are accredited to SMS. Valuing our teachers is paramount as this will translate into the best musical experiences for our students.
