My experience private tutoring, completing a Master’s research project and dissertation and travelling throughout Southeast Asia have given me exceptional planning, organizational and leadership skills. I have Masters & Bachelors degrees in Psychology, A-levels in Psychology (A*), Biology (A*), and mathematics (B) and believe I could provide outstanding tutoring in biology and psychology. During the COVID-19 lockdown I worked with a student over summer, who was preparing to start learning GCSE mathematics once schools resumed. I provided 1-1 sessions, assessing her strengths and difficulties, and preparing lessons that built her confidence and practiced skills she struggled with. I prepared lessons to ensure the content of her school curriculum and future exam board content was covered so she would feel more prepared to start in year 10. During my Master's research project, I lead interviews with children with Down Syndrome and their parents. I learnt how to effectively build rapport to create an open and safe environment to assist the sharing of information. I became skilled at relaying complex scientfic information in a way that is easy to understand. Additionally, I was responsible for setting up research equipment to prepare for the day, organizing files and supporting administrative tasks and thus am competent in organisational and planning skills. |
