I am a qualified Secondary Science teacher with over a decade of classroom experience, working with students from Year 7 to Year 13. As Head of Physics for 10 years, I was deeply involved in developing schemes of work, designing effective revision strategies, and creating high-quality resources to support learning. Additionally, my experience as a board examiner has given me valuable insight into common exam pitfalls and what mark schemes are really looking for; knowledge that I use to help my students maximise their marks.
After tutoring alongside my teaching role for several years, I launched Huntingdon Science Tutoring in 2024 to provide expert Science tuition to students locally, across the UK, and worldwide. My tuition service is designed to be personalised, engaging, and confidence-boosting, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed.
I take great pride and enjoyment in creating high-quality, tailored resources that address each student’s specific needs, whether that’s stretching high achievers aiming for top grades or supporting students with EBSA who require a more nurturing approach. My lessons are structured, interactive, and carefully designed to bridge knowledge gaps and build confidence.
In addition to 1:1 tuition, I also offer small-group sessions, both online and in-person, as a more affordable option. These sessions provide the benefits of peer collaboration, shared problem-solving, and interactive discussions, while still ensuring that every student receives expert guidance and targeted support from me. Small-group tuition helps build confidence, improves communication skills, and allows students to learn from each other’s questions and perspectives. My lessons are a minimum of one hour, tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual student. I begin by aligning my teaching with the student's exam board specification to ensure that lessons are focused on the key content required for their exams. Additionally, I find it beneficial to review homework assignments together, ensuring full understanding of the material. Over the past year, I have tutored a diverse range of students across various levels and ages, from pre-GCSE to A-Level, in both Geography and Oxbridge admission interviews. With over a year of experience tutoring students across a range of levels, from pre-GCSE to A-Level, I am committed to providing professional, high-quality tuition tailored to each student's unique needs. I carefully align lessons with exam board specifications to ensure focused preparation, while also offering personalized support through homework reviews to reinforce understanding. Current student, I have a few tutoring experience with A level and GCSE students. The academic progression of my mentee in GCSE combined science and mathematics was from a 4-5 to a 7-9 respectively. Another mentee of A Level went from an B to an A* in Mathematics.
With a very flexible schedule, I do provide a first free lesson to establish background knowledge. The tutoring will be fully online.
I mentor in further Mathematics Edexcel: CP1, CP2, FP1, FS1, FS2; Chemistry A OCR; Biology A OCR and Mathematics Edexcel.
The topics covered will all be in the syllabus; some university techniques used in Further Mathematics/Statistics will be covered.

I currently work at a high achieving private independent college in Cambridge and have over 15 years teaching experience. Experience: I am a fully qualified Science teacher and have experience working in public and private schools within East Anglia. I have a PGCE in Secondary Science from The Open University, a BSc in Biochemistry and a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of London.

Not long ago I was a struggling GCSE student. I was failing many of my GCSEs and was in dire need of help. I turned to a tutor who, through their genuine love and passion for teaching, helped me turn my grades around. I have always had a passion for teaching, not only academically but through tennis and music as well. I hope to be able to not only help students achieve the grades they deserve, but also to instill within them a love for learning and help them discover their interests!
