My level of qualification is a BSc. In Physics from The University of Nottingham.
I have been tutoring maths for 15 years as well as teaching piano to all ages for the last 30 years.
Over this time I have gained experience of the issues facing children regarding their academic
endeavours as well as their personal worries and struggles with confidence. I have always been
open to their expression of themselves and offered friendly support and understanding.
Over the years I have encountered a number of autistic students and been able to communicate
successfully with them, helping them to gain trust and some belief in themselves as individuals
in the world. On occasion I have been contacted again by their parents for further tutoring.
My main focus with maths tutoring has been primary and GCSE level.
I studied at The Birmingham School of Music and the Guildhall, London where I graduated in vocal studies and Music Therapy respectively. I am a qualified teacher and have worked in various schools across the East Midlands both as a teacher and a Music Therapist. I work as an arranger for a number of acapella groups both in the folk and gospel industry. I perform regularly both in churches and small venues as a multi-instrumentalist, conductor and singer.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught music up to 'A' level and as well as all over the UK I have worked in Romania and West Africa. I regularly teach the compositional element of ABRSM exams to grade 8, where I have a 100% pass rate and have over 25 years experience in special and state schools. I am available to teach online over Skype or Zoom.
Tutoring Approach:
I am passionate about music and endeavour to pass this on to my students. I enjoy and can play a wide variety of music from classical, pop, jazz and gospel. Each of my students is precious and I strive to help them achieve their potential at what ever level.
I graduated with a first-class degree in Biotechnology. I'm an adaptable, flexible, and resilient team player with a solid research background, extra laboratory experiences in a fast-paced environment with multidisciplinary team projects. I am a student at Nottingham University currently studying computer science. I have a lot of experience in studying and practising for exams as well as experienced many different ways of retaining information and being able to relay this onto students. Hello! I'm a music teacher with 5 years of experience and I specialise in harmony/theory, composition, and jazz improvisation. Whether you/ your child is a complete beginner, or you're a professional musician looking to 'add more musical ingredients to the cupboard', or anywhere inbetween, I'd love to hear from you so we can sort out a free taster lesson.
If you are completely new to music, the piano/keyboard (or the drums) is the best place to start. The layout of the keyboard forms the basis for our understanding of harmony and theory, without which, learners of instruments (other than drums) will be at a significant disadvantage.
Things I can help with:

I have over four years of experience tutoring both online and face-to-face. During this time, I have taught piano to children as young as three and worked intensively on exam preparation, including English tests and the ISEE, often with only three months’ notice. I’ve also helped students exceed their grade level in English writing, reading, and comprehension. Additionally, I have worked with children with autism, ADHD, and anxiety, focusing on building trust and creating a fun, engaging learning environment where we can grow together.

I am experienced in my instruments and so far have taught trumpet and maths so I have experience in teaching children. I have grade 8 qualifications in all 4 instruments and study piano at Cardiff University School of Music. I have an A* mathematics A-level and completed two years of mathematics at Cardiff University before I decided to pursue music further instead. Price shown is per hour but lessons are avaiable from 30 minutes to 90 minutes.

Hi my name is Laura. I have always enjoyed music and I believe it is one of the best ways you can express yourself as an individual. I started learning the electronic keyboard at the age of 11 at a music school, later migrating to piano in my teens. My obsession with music continued all to the way through to my late teens and early 20s when I later graduated with a Bachelor's Degree with Honours at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. While studying music at university, I was lucky to receive expert tuition from Jazz Pianist and composer Chris Ingham. Since graduation I always wanted to be in a funk or soul band and even now regularly turn up to jazz gigs and jams and play at open mics as I feel its so important to keep your music fresh and learn off other people.
I have been teaching piano as a peripatetic and private teacher since I left University, so when I was 21 years old.
I was really lucky to experience tuition in such a contemporary, 'non stuffy' manner, I truly believe this is the way music should be taught. There's nothing worse than dull piano lessons!
