Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

Following completion of A-Levels in History, English Literature and Health and Social Care, I began my career in education through obtaining a degree in primary education, specialising in the arts and humanities. I have taught children ranging from 4-11 in addition to gaining experience in EAL, SEN and training in BR@P and Prevent. I have further experience as a nursery nurse and a childminders assistant focusing on preparing early years children for school. Throughout this time, I have developed a child-centred approach to teaching by observing the child and tailoring to their individual needs based on personality, learning style and level.

I am an academic by profession and I have been a personal tutor for 8 years on various website including online and in person. My goal is to share my knowledge with people of all age groups who are interested in learning a foreign language and humanities subjects either for personal exams or just for fun. I also aim to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible not just for the sake of breaking the "monotony" of classroom style teaching, but also because I want to engage with my tutees in order to help them achieve their best results in the most efficient way possible. Plus, I personally believe that everyone is competent and capable of learning any subject or language as long as the relationship between tutors and students are on the same page, and the lessons are made to be more engaging and reachable. For further details, do not hesitate to write a message to me. I look forward to your messages and queries! :)

I am currently Head of RE in an OFSTED rated Good secondary school and have been an RE and History teacher for five years. I am also a lead examiner and this is highly beneficial for assisting students apply their knowledge to the exam questions and access the questions. I enjoy working with students and seeing them achieve their goals.
I have been teaching for 5 years across the range of key stages in both History and RE. I am an experienced examiner for AQA and an examining team leader for Eduqas, and have previously examined for Edexcel. The majority of my students achieve above their expected grades due to this in depth understanding of the requirements of the exam boards.

First Class History graduate from the University of Oxford teaching History (GCSE and A-Level) and English Literature (GCSE and A-Level). 3 years tutoring experience.
My tutoring approach is predominantly centred around essay practice. As this is the crux of both History and English Literature, together we will explore the optimum structure, language and content for both GCSE and A-Level essays. Independent practice essays created from the student's exam syllabus will be set and marked by me, before being discussed and improved in the lesson.
In History classes, key dates and events will be discussed for the specific papers taken by the student and memorised through main categories of analysis: causation and impact.
In English classes, we will discuss key passages in the proscribed exam texts, exploring their meaning, imagery, language and technique.
Alongside teaching History and English, I also have experience preparing students for both school entrance exams and interviews, and university entrance exams and interviews. I would happily tutor in these sectors too.
A typical lesson would last an hour, with an occasional piece of independent homework.
Having studied both History and English Literature at A-Level (achieving A* in both), I have a good understanding of the requirements and study techniques needed. I have also just complete my degree in History at the University of Oxford, graduating with First Class honours, and thus would be in the position to support students seeking to apply and sit the History Admissions Test (HAT).
I also worked as a tutor at Kumon for three years, developing strong teaching skills.
I am passionate and hardworking and, having just finished my degree, am seeking to impart the skills and knowledge I learned. As a friendly and supportive person, I believe the best way to achieve is through steady yet constant work in a warm environment, allowing mistakes to be made and learned from. Open to learning new things, I am ready to take on all manner of boo

I am a dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic individual who has experience across the entire primary age range from Year 1 up to Year 6. I also have experience with 1:1 support for behavioural and emotional issues. I am currently a Year 4 Classroom teacher. Throughout my time at my current school, I have proven to be a valuable member of the team who brought a passion and infectious positive attitude that has contributed to creating a warm school atmosphere.
During my time at my current school, I have been able to work independently and as part of a team to create a balanced and broad curriculum that matches the needs of the children in my class. I have been able to capture the interest and attention of the children through a wide variety of texts that have been carefully selected to ensure there is a range of themes and conventions covered including “family and friendships”, “Social and Racial issues” “key historical events such as the Anglo-Saxons and the www.*** ; Throughout our reading journey in Year 4, the children have shown their interest in each text through the emotion in their voices when answering questions and making predictions, the work they have produced and how they ask me as their class teacher to keep reading and not close the book.
Furthermore, I have been able to teach effective units of writing that have been carefully sequenced and planned to ensure that the children have all of the skills they need to write an effective end of unit independent piece of writing. Throughout each unit, I am also able to adapt the sequence of lessons as the unit progresses to ensure that the children are fully confident in the grammar, structure and organisational features of the text before they write independently. To ensure that there is a wide coverage across the curriculum the children are exposed to a wide variety of writing types including: descriptions, poetry, story writing, letters and instructions. Each of these pieces of writing have started with a hook to capture the interest and curiosity of each child in the class.
I have also been able to plan alongside schemes that are in school and been able to plan a Maths curriculum independently for different year groups. At my current school, I have been able to work alongside the Power Maths and White Rose scheme. Through these schemes I have also been able to use my teacher's judgement and assessment for learning techniques to adapt and add to the schemes to ensure that each child is fully “fluent” in any given topic before moving onto problem solving and reasoning questions. Here it is important that the children have the necessary mathematical skills to challenge these problems but also have the ability to break problem questions down especially those that are “two steps and three www.*** ;
I have also been able to quickly build up professional relationships with both staff and parents. I strive to ensure that I work as an effective team member and continue to contribute exciting and fresh ideas to create a broad and engaging curriculum for all.
Previous to this I have worked in a number of different schools with a variety of backgrounds during my time on supply. An example of this would be teaching on a long term placement through supply placement. I was teaching in a mixed Y4/5 class at a school in Middlesbrough. The class was 100% EAL with a high proportion of SEN needs. Although it was a Y4/5 class, they were only working at aY1/2 level. Through the placement I have been able to demonstrate effective behaviour management strategies due to the fact that it was impossible to stick to one strategy. This required me to constantly adapt my strategies to the needs of the class on a regular basis. Furthermore, through quality first teaching, exciting and engaging lessons and an excellent understanding of each of the children’s needs I was able to make accelerated progress and work towards closing the gap from their KS1 trajectory to where they should be in terms of age related expectations. During my time at the school I was also able to work with a variety of external agencies in order to aid the provision of the children and ensure that each of their needs was being met.
I am looking to take the wider variety of skills that I have obtained and the experience that I have gained from a wide variety of schools and year groups to contribute to outside teaching projects.

I spent over a year in school environment, where I was a TA, helping a range of students, from pre-school age, to 15-16 year olds. I like to find new and inovative ways to help students learn to get them ready for any tests or even for their GCSEs.

Hello! I'm a History graduate from Durham University and I'm happy to tutor secondary and A-Level/IB students in History and English Literature/Language & Literature. I had attained a high upper-second class degree in History with a first-class dissertation. Prior to university I had attained 44/45 in IB, with History and English Language & Literature as my Higher Level subjects. As an IB alumna, I understand the stress that comes with attaining one's diploma, hence I look forward to helping students in need.
Providing elaborate study packages and personalising lessons to meet individual needs, I ensure that my students fully comprehend their course content. This is vital for attaining A*s and 7s, as both subjects require students to form their own interpretations of their course content, rather than simply regurgitating information. Remote tutoring provides students with the flexibility and ease of learning from their own homes.
